Move a company website off Webflow to a fast static site in under two weeks
Very Good Ventures used Claude Code to move its site, including 204 blog posts and about 1,200 images, from Webflow to Astro on Cloudflare in under two weeks, with agents also writing and running the QA tests. How to do it
- Export or scrape all content from the old site builder
- Have the agent build an Astro site with content as Markdown files
- Recreate integrations such as analytics, forms and job boards
- Have the agent write Playwright tests and screenshots across browsers, then fix what fails
- Deploy to Cloudflare Pages and set up redirects for any changed URLs
The prompt
We're leaving Webflow. Here's an export of our CMS collections in ./export. Build an Astro 5 site that stores blog posts, case studies and pages as Markdown with frontmatter, keeps every existing URL, and copies images into the repo. Then write Playwright tests that load every page in the sitemap, check for broken links and missing images, and save screenshots at mobile and desktop widths.
