Turn repeat WordPress hosting chores into one-command agent skills

Austin Ginder of Anchor Hosting built 22 Claude Code skills that run tasks like site migrations, backups, malware cleanup and plugin patching across about 2,900 WordPress sites. A migration that took 20-30 minutes of hands-on terminal work now starts with one command and runs while he does other things.

How to do it

  1. Pick one task you repeat often and write down every step you take, in order
  2. Turn that list into a Claude Code skill or slash command with clear checks after each phase
  3. Run it on a test site and fix any step the agent skips or gets wrong
  4. Add memory notes for server details and quirks the agent should remember
  5. Repeat for the next most common chore

The prompt

Create a Claude Code skill called /site-migrate. It takes an SSH connection string for a source WordPress site and a target. Steps: check disk space on both, export the database, copy wp-content with rsync, import the database on the target, run a search-replace for the domain, flush caches, then load the homepage and report the HTTP status. Stop and ask me if any step fails. Before you write it, show me the plan.
