Record a rewards-points check once and have Claude in Chrome repeat it on demand

Eric Hal Schwartz recorded himself checking several loyalty programs and logging balances in a spreadsheet, then had Claude in Chrome rerun the whole routine from a one-line prompt, working across tabs in parallel. It did the job well, with a couple of password errors slowing it down.

How to do it

  1. Create a spreadsheet with one row per rewards program and columns for balance and date.
  2. Make sure you're already logged into each program in Chrome, using a password manager rather than giving Claude passwords.
  3. Use Claude in Chrome's workflow recording while you check each program once and update the sheet.
  4. Rerun the saved workflow by name and review the updated numbers.
  5. Keep banking and card-payment sites out of the workflow.

The prompt

Run my rewards check: open each loyalty program listed in my 'Rewards' Google Sheet, read the current points or miles balance and any expiry date, and update that row with the balance, expiry and today's date. If a site asks for a login or a code, stop and tell me rather than guessing. Don't redeem, transfer or change anything on any account.
